Volunteer

Charis Prison Ministry of Delta, CO, Inc. is an ecumenical Christian prison ministry in which no particular denomination, theology, or tradition is expressed, implied, or permitted. Charis is a volunteer ministry for our incarcerated brothers, and is funded by individual contributions. Men nominated for membership must be approved by the board of directors.

Volunteer Applicant Requirements

  1. Must have accepted Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior and recognize him as the one and only way to the Father and salvation.

  2. Attend all required team meetings and show continued support to the insiders by attending monthly reunions following the weekend.

  3. Actively involved in church fellowship and a prayer and share group.

  4. Abide by all the institution requirements and guidelines, and accept any consequences that may occur for not following them.

  5. Abide by all the policies and procedures of Charis Prison Ministry of Delta.

  6. By submitting an application, give Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC) permission to conduct a background check on them, as part of the approval process.

    Completion of a Cursillo, Tres Dias, Via De Cristo or similar 3 day weekend is strongly recommended but not required.

Submission of application, online or via mail, does not guarantee acceptance into the program as a volunteer. Team members will be selected at a later date.
